English for Nursing - 40-hour course
English for Nursing is aimed at internationally educated nurses with an upper-intermediate level of English (B2 / IELTS 6) who need additional language support to work or study in an English-speaking country.
The emphasis is on listening and reading but also covers everyday language used for spoken interaction in a healthcare environment.
The course is divided into 2 parts:
Part 1 - Academic Listening & Note-taking Skills
This includes 6 lessons focusing on academic listening and note-taking skills to help you in your Nursing upgrading courses.

Part 2 - Workplace Communication
This includes 4 lessons focusing on listening and speaking in nursing contexts such as hospitals, clinics and home visits.
In each lesson you will learn and practise different conversation patterns related to the following workplace situations:
- weekend reports
- shift changes
- patient history
- post operation
The vocabulary and skills presented in these lessons will enable you to:
- interact in a variety of situations
- build your cultural understanding
- practice medical-related vocabulary
- listen for detail
