Speaking Test - Part 1 - Where you’re from

In Part 1 of the IELTS Speaking test you will be asked about various familiar topics related to work / studies / family / hobbies / home / future plans etc. Therefore it is a good idea to start thinking about these topics in advance and consider what type of questions you could be asked.

It is not a good idea to prepare pre-rehearsed scripted answers which won't sound very natural and spontaneous but you can start thinking about useful words and phrases that you might be able to use when talking about these familiar topics.

This free worksheet from the IELTS Speaking 7 Plus course helps you to start thinking about how you could answer questions about where you're from.

I’d like to say Big thanks to Jenny for her valuable help and tips in order to improve my speaking. I had a test two months ago and my score for speaking was only 6.5. After this, I took two iPass Speaking Plus courses with Jenny because I needed 7 in each band. So I had to resit this test again and I’ve got 8.0 for speaking. I still can’t believe, but I am very, very pleased. Unfortunately, I couldn’t get the 4 7s, I’ve got 7.0 for writing, 7.0 for reading and 6.5 for the easiest part – listening. However, my previous result for listening was 7.5.
So I have to take this test again, but I definitely recommend this website for people who wants to increase their level of English in a short period of time. A big variety of useful video and audio exercises, skype interviews which are identical to the real test will help you to reach your goal.
Finally, a few words about Jenny. She is very professional, I always got valuable hints from her, she knows what examiners expect from you on the test, and that’s why she could put me on the right track.
If you still don’t know where to learn English, you are on the right website. You will absolutely get what you need!
