Urbanisation - band 7
The three diagrams illustrate the development of Meadowside village into a suburb of the city of Fonton from 1962 to present. Overall, Meadowside village has significantly improved throughout the years. The area has expanded and different infrastructures and establishments were built.
In 1962, Meadowside was a small village located in the western part of Fonton with no commercial buildings in the area. There were only small roads going to the North and Western part of the village. However, in 1985, a housing estate, leisure complex and superstore were constructed. In the same period, roads were enhanced and cemented connecting the village to Fonton.
As the area continued to grow economically, a hotel and train station were developed located in the middle of the suburbs. A business park was also created while railways have been made in the western part of Fonton. As the suburbs continue to flourish, the population also increased, thus increasing the number of housing complex in the area.
