Congratulations to Ngo Ngoc Tram from Vietnam who joined IELTS Amigo this week and became the 1000th member!!
IELTS amigo is a social network site exclusively for IELTS candidates all around the world.
It is a place where you can meet other students online and arrange to practice your speaking together in preparation for the IELTS test.
You can even request a realtime practice interview with an iPass tutor.
Or you can join the online chat rooms to share your experiences of IELTS and recommend good study techniques and exam tips with other students.
You can also set up and join groups related to your interest, such as the IELTS Skype for speaking practice, which has the most members!
Anyone can join who is preparing for the IELTS test and it is especially beneficial to those students who do not have the opportunity to practice very much spoken English in their native country.
As our 1000th member, Ngo Ngoc Tram wins a 7-day trial of the iPass IELTS Excel course which we hope will help her to achieve her target of Band 7.5 when she takes her test in August.

Are you following Phil on facebook?
This week Phil has been looking at 'phrasal verbs'.
Phrasal verbs are an essential part of everyday spoken and written English and can help you to sound much more natural in English.
Certainly, if you are aiming for Band 7 or above you should be using phrasal verbs as part of your normal speech.
Here's a quick test!
Do you know the meaning of these phrasal verbs?
Be careful because the definitions are not always literal!
1. Don't forget to look me up next time you come to Sydney.
2. He's a great role model for other students to look up to.
3. Have you had time to look over that report I gave you?
4. After receiving my complaint, they promised to look into the problem.
5. My older brother always looked out for me when I was a kid.
Check our facebook page for the answers next Friday, when you can also enter Phil's weekly competition to win a free course!
